I am sure you have heard by now that there was an earthquake in VA…the only real damage I have seen is to the National Cathedral, one of my favorite DC spots!
The whole Cathedral is roped off with police tape and there are tons of news crews there. While I was sneaking around taking pictures, Lottie proceeded to chase a squirrel up a tree and yap loudly at it while I tried unsuccessfully to yank her away. Obviously, this blew our cover. Embarrassing.
Even though I think she is an almost perfect dog and I love her so much, I do not think Lottie is particularly photogenic. I take so many photos of her, but she rarely looks as cute and sweet as she is in person. I do like this one though and it represents how she spends most of her time…lounging and staring. Lottie is a total starer. I swear that dog can see into peoples’ souls…
Lottie hasn’t had a photo on the blog in awhile and I think she’s been getting a little upset and jealous of all the other dogs who have…such as Moe, Huey and Indy.
I love this photo because we were in a gorgeous spot overlooking the Potomac at Fletcher’s Boathouse, but also because of her crazy ears! Lottie’s ears are floppy and goofy-looking when we are inside, but when outdoors, this dog’s ears are as erect and focused as a pure-bred. People have told me she has a regal look about her…pretty fancy for a mutt :)

The beach in the winter is the best. You have it all to yourself and dogs are allowed. Lottie LOVES the beach…she goes crazy digging, running and chasing birds. It is so much fun! Merry Christmas, all!
